BEYOND CLASSICAL
When was the last time you could recall yourself as a child, dreaming of that something you love to do?
I remember those days when I would sit down at the piano, learning the pieces of the great classical composers: Bach, Liszt, Chopin, Beethoven…
I was just about 5 years old, but I vividly remember the feeling of yearning to discover something new in music. Every day.
It was this curiosity that led me to the modern music of today. The pop, edm, rock, but also a totally different world of music, jazz.
My love for all these genres got me to question,
“What if we could bring them together, and offer something different to the world?”.
“What would happen if I brought the ever-so contrapuntal melodies of the Toccata and Fugue by Bach over to meet the jazz and pop world?”
“Could the rich harmonies of Brahms’ Hungarian Dance work the same wonders if it was painted with the diatonic sevenths of a completely different musical world?”
My questions also pondered vice versa,“Could the music of the modern world be an epic new discovery if blended with etudes, sonatas and virtuosic piano arrangements?”
All these questions led to Beyond Classical, a musical journey I yearn to show to the world.
My three musical personalities -classical, jazz, contemporary- have been distilled in a spectacular creation produced by Roger Montejano, that involves also the works of mastering engineers Howie Weinberg and Mike Couzzi.
This EP embodies my ever-present yearning to bring new sound into the world.
